Email from Rob Hansen

My buddy Rob Hansen, who broke into his special case of Grande Classique 2008 Glen Carlou wine from Paarl, South Africa last night just for the occasion, sent me this email:

We are enjoying Jeromes company in Campbell River as he makes his final preparations for his record breaking attempt around  the island. This seems to be largely comprised of eating non stop as he carbo-loads and drinking copious amounts of red wine. I had to open some South African reds in his honour last night.

With stellar conditions lining up for Jerome's  EPIC Voyage ,Oscar messaged that he should be able to do at least 200 km a day with a following wind . Jerome humbly commented that he has always ridden in Oscars wake, feeling somewhat like an autumnal leaf tumbled dizzily in the slipstream of a freight train.

With Jerome looking lean and handsome (according to the local babes), one can't help wondering if some bikini clad babes might pop up unexpectedly on deserted far flung beaches on the west coast of the island. Nothing wrong with hallucinations of exhaustion, even if he only gets lucky with a rutting male walrus in reality.

He sets off for Port Hardy today to stay with Dazy, Crystal and Tracy before setting out to sea. We wish him following winds, a happy heart and favorable hallucinations.
